The Real Estate Market in Colorado has been very fortunate in the past several years, considering the national economic downturn and national real estate issues. While no state went unaffected, Colorado remained, and is today, one of the most stable states when it comes to the real estate scene.

Because Colorado has such a diverse and attractive economic portfolio, its growth has been undeterred in the past decade, with population rising 16.2% from 2000 to 2010. With this population increase, the economy has benefited from the large amounts of growth needed to help the state and nation climb out of recession.

A recent study found that home values, while they had decreased, were only down about 2% in Denver as of the end of 2010. Compare this to many other cities, which have seen anywhere from 8%-16% decreases in value (see our blog on this subject).

Colorado is known for so many things culturally, naturally, and economically, that it is destined with better withstand the ups of down of real estate market cycles. Colorado is one of the most dynamic and beautiful states in the U.S. It is home to many natural wonders such as the many national parks, forests, mountains, lakes, and the amazing ski and snowboard resorts up and down the Rocky Mountains.

Additionally, it is home to "Wall Street of the West", in Denver and an astounding metropolitan area filled with everything from farms and ranches to some of the highest technology companies and government agencies in the world.

Because Colorado has so much to offer its citizens, the real estate industry is truly blessed in that growth will continue over the next many decades, while the well-established areas will again thrive thanks to the hard-work and pride in keeping Colorado beautiful.

If you are thinking about whether or not Colorado is the right fit for you and your family, the choice is easy. Buying a home is about making it your home. And there is no better place to make it than right here.

After all, there is a reason the opening lines to "America The Beautiful" are about Colorado:

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
